Inspired from the 5th-century King Vakhtang Gorgasali and the prosperous era of his time, Royal Knife Gorgasali crystallizes Zarapxana's core idea - to materialize history through the centuries-old goldsmithing tradition.
Made of highly durable super steel (K190, HRC 63), the sharp blade of the knife embodies the king's virility and determination, while the sterling silver-enhanced wooden body incarnates his royal grandeur. The front view of the knife is adorned with thirteen turquoise stones as a token of December 13th - the day of King Vakhtang's commemoration. The surface depicts a pheasant and a hawk - symbols of the founding of the capital city, Tbilisi, and a bow that refers to the king's fresco from the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Since the Persians named him "Gorgasali" because of his wolf-shaped headdress, the butt portrays the mentioned image.
It is noteworthy that while developing the visual and tactile features of the piece, our team focused on the monarch's vigorous personality and physical strength. As a result, Zarapxana devised a knife that passes you the great king's power immediately upon touch.
